When Elizabeth Smith and Kirk Bangstad relocated to Minocqua from Manhattan, they were sure to bring a slice of the Big Apple with them.
Prior to moving up north, Smith and Bangstad had been cycling enthusiasts, so shortly after settling in they decided to open Studio 715, home of Lakeland area's only authentic spinning classes.
"Elizabeth realized when we moved here that there was no place to do it," said Bangstad. "She started teaching at the Tone Zone because they had some bikes but she couldn't turn the music up loud enough, so she just realized that she really wanted to have her own studio."
Studio 715 opened on Memorial Day weekend in downtown Minocqua. Smith renovated the building across from the post office in order to suit her style of cardio exercise.
